GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS

ALPSA offers its members the opportunity to apply for travel grants for seminars and conferences where they will present papers. ALPSA also offers supplementary research grants to support students and scholars that have already secured research funding from at least one source.

NOTE: Grants and Scholarships program was suspended in 2003. The program will re-start again when funds become available. The following information refers to grants and scholarships awarded in the period 2000-2003. Please, visit again for more information.

TRAVEL GRANTS

ALPSA offers grants of up to US$500 to cover travel expenses for participants who present scholarly papers at professional conferences in political science and related disciplines.

To apply, please send a cover letter, CV, abstract of the paper to be presented, and a justfied budget estimate to alpsa@alpsa.org

Preference is given to candidates that have already secured partial funding for their travel and other expenses. If you have received a grant that covers part of the expenses, please include information on that grant with your application.

Applications are received on a year-round basis. You may expect a reply in 30-45 days from the application's receipt.

Travel grants are given only to ALPSA members, and are awarded on the basis of several factors, including the relevance and standing of the conference where the paper will be presented, the scholarly quality of the work presented, and the academic background of the applicant.

SUPPLEMENTARY RESEARCH GRANTS

ALPSA offers supplementary research grants of up to US$500 to support scholars and students who are conducting research in political science or related disciplines, and are receiving or will receive research funding from at least one source.
